iOS is renowned for its crisp, clean, and generally good user interface. That doesn’t mean, however, that it couldn’t benefit from a tint of color here and there, now does it?
Developer Ryan Petrich is renowned as one of the best and most frequent contributors to the Cydia / jailbreak community, and was the instigator of Tweak Week, a movement allowing a developer a week to take the helm and deliver a new app daily – something like a radio DJ.
The latest in his long list of useful offerings comes in the form of Color Profiles, which allows you to theme your device according to an assorted list of default themes. Simply install, go to settings, choose your theme and hey, presto:
As depicted, you can play around with the color temperature to ensure the look is precisely to your personal taste. There are 19 themes available in total, and more are available through the Cydia Store.
The $1.99 price tag could be a defining factor in its success, though, and seems a tad excessive for something that essentially only brings forth cosmetic changes. Nonetheless, the app is pretty cool, and will certainly enable you stand out from the crowd. Moreover, it’s a country mile better than using WinterBoard – a laggy Cydia app which also gives iDevice users the license to be tacky.
It’s available at the BigBoss repository, which, unless you’ve removed it manually, will reside in your default source list in Cydia.
